The series romance of plural adult couples who have some relation each other. The story: (Hide Sasaki is a designer of the advertising production. Hide is a lover of Shinji Sakaki who is a president of the big advertising agency but Hide hides their relationship from the president of his company, Ken-ichi Sakaki who is an elder brother of Shinji and not homosexual. Shinji urges his secretary, Matsuzaki to be Ken-ichi's lover. Matsuzaki hesitates too impatient action but he can not wait because photographer, Ishii tries to tempt Ken-ichi though Ishii really loves his assistant, Akira who is a Matsuzaki's cousin...). Most characters (except Akira) are adult working guys, so they are attractive for me. Especially I love Shinji's secretary Matsuzaki who is very blunt/cold but very sexy/lustful and cruel/tender for his lover, Ken-ichi who can not be easily dependent on other guys (In the fourth story, I'm very moved to see that gentle Matsuzaki spoils Ken-ichi after nasty Matsuzaki makes Ken-ichi angry and cry. How charming Matsuzaki is!). The author's art seems to have improved very much. I take it for granted that this series is very popular and still continuing now. "Ima ni Mukai Kuru Kaze" (Ohkura Shuppan) Aug/2001 8.28 **
Reissue from her djs had written since 1996 about two students (Makoto and Kei) who participated motorcycle gang group. When Makoto enters the high school, Kei also resigned gang group and deliberately repeated his year and becomes same grade as Makoto because he begins to love Makoto. But Makoto doesn't understand Kei's intention and think they are just good friends....The author aims to write perfect equal couple (there is no explicit distinction of seme or uke) and without sex because I think she wants to express m/m couple not as a substitute of just m/f couple. The process to sex of m/m couple is very interesting for yaoi readers and some yaoi stories would be uninteresting just after they make love. So we often have to meet such contradiction (In order to enjoy yaoi story for long time, we can not see their first sex forever) though we want to read erotic scenes! (by Slash-kun 02/Sep/2001)

"Koi no Yokan" (Core Magazine) Mar/2001 8.2 ***
The sequel of "Love You Only" but this hero is Kajiyama, who is a cousin of Yoshioka. Kajiyama finally finds his lover, Yuusuke at campus and starts living in his room with Yuusuke together by force...Story is very interesting for me because I love Kajiyama who is very cool and arrogant (I don't understand very well why Yuusuke is attractive for Kajiyama though Yuusuke is very funny and cute...). Anyway the author seems to become much better at expressing the conflict of the feelings between uke&seme. (by Slash-kun 17/Mar/2001)

"Okini Mesumama" (Shinkousha) Mar/2002 8.5 ***
Two exotic old-fashioned stories in fictional countries. First long story: The prince Aciddo, a successor of Kingdom Shindou - like old India - should decide his wife but does not want to give up his wanton life yet. Then he imposes unique condition to choose his wife and one wandering swordsman of foreign country, Garland happens to meets its condition. Aciddo makes a proposal to Garland, if Garland would allow Aciddo to keep his wanton life, Accido will give Garland whatever Garland wants. But Garland wants prince himself.... It's very interesting because Aciddo is not ordinary weak beautiful uke but he is very arrogant and selfish/childish and vigorous (has brown healthy skin - I also want to read reversible story, too as readers want). And Garland is very cool and has great secret mission which is obstacles against the love with Accido! Both Accido and Garland have severe sexual experience/trauma in their childhood but they are basically tough and funny. The author's sense of "gag/joke" resembles one of "Fumi Yoshinaga" and it relieves the readers from to be too serious. And her sex scenes are also erotic/dramatic with tense atmosphere though they are a little tame/soft. I also like the second short story (The idler son of feudal lord of Sekishuu - like old china, Nagi loves the surly/arrogant spy, Kari though Kari is his subordinate. Kari who always refuses Nagi's courtship happens to know that Nagi loved the lover of his father who had same red eye like Kari. Kari feels anger for Nagi who loves him as substitute...) very much because both Nagi and Kari are cool/dark like characters of "Kunie Sakai"! The author may disparage her bad tendency/preference of long faces but I prefer such masculine adult long faces!! The author is very famous as a djska of "Kamen rider Kuga" now, so I'd like to read her djs, too! (by Slash-kun 30/Mar/2002)

"ebisu - Tamonkun no Nayameru Nichijou" (Biblos) Dec/2001 8.3 **
This author's first comics. Ebisu, a son who has been kept under overprotection by his very rich family, suddenly moves to the boarding school. Ebisu's servant , Shibazaki is seriously anxious and asks Ebisu's care to Ebisu's roommate, Tamon who is one of the most excellent students in this school. Ebisu becomes attached to Tamon, but Ebisu often compares Tamon with Shibazaki, then Tamon begins to feel jealous of Shibazaki before he is aware...This book has very unique publication style and almost pages are reissued from her djs (original story, not parody). It is very happy for me and many readers to be able to read manga with reasonable price by issuing as commercial books. Though this was published as djs, there is no explicit sex scenes and its impression is very fresh. All the characters are very attractive, especially secondary roles, Hotei (elder student and fan of Tamon) and Katsura (enemy student for Tamon but very pretty for me!) are adult and my fab. Ebisu of cover pic has black hair and looks more bewitching/voluptuous (I like such bitch guy!), so I'm looking forward to "voluptuous/wanton bad uke" at next!! (by Slash-kun 30/Dec/2001)

One long series of funny romance between typical "Queen uke"(sexy & beautiful but arrogant), Iori Nishizawa, the chairman student and his "Geboku - Servant seme", the vice chairman student, Daisuke Yamane and three short stories (shota PWP between the son of porno actress and her colleague & aspiring novelist / PWP of reluctant elder seme student and his aggressive younger lover / dangerous romance between banker and bank robber). She makes great progress of her art and her sex scenes are very sweet and erotic! Many readers must be able to enjoy her stories of unique seem who is not tender/weak as he looks at first. But Shuu tries to tease Ichiya so often and Yuu has a secret lover, Keigo Agawa who is the rival star of Shuu....stories are mostly funny like Ariko Kanazawa but sometimes serious like "Blue Moon". Takachi, very beautiful student who works as a fashion model at same time, finally can become a lover of very cool and square (heterosexual) high school student, Sou. Takachi seems to love Sou more strongly than Sou does, but when Sou knows Takachi's former lover happened to kiss Takachi, Sou suddenly begins to treat Takachi very fiercely because of his jealousy. The story line is not so unique (every woman wish to be loved by such young guy insanely...) but the author's expression of characters' feeling is very dramatical that I could really enjoy to read this. Unification of Anthology book series, "DOUBLE" & "Danger" of Sanwa Shuppan. Short stories with hard sex for adult female readers. The writers are: Suzuhara Shino(Dark love romance with great impact of two guys who has problems in their family), Matsuura Kei(An entrance exam rejectee should sponge on the room of his elder cousin), CHI-RAN(Stubborn but beautiful office worker can accept himself by mysterious guy's tender rape), Sakura Ayumi(An urban teenager who comes to the beach with his homosexual friends is saved by the local boy and tries homosexual sex), Izumi Hitotsubu(Very interesting story with sexy adult guys! Hero's girl friend chooses hero's friend. Her father feels sorry for hero but hero realizes the love for father), Sadahiro Mika (The next series of UGH - Sword and Sen celebrate Sword's birthday and the first anniversary of their acquaintance - their first sex though new warden arrives and there is the presentiment of very bad future... Sadahiro describes the reality of american prison well by adopting the atmosphere of the american drama, "OZ" very skillfully), Honjoh Rie (The guy changed his girl friends so often and has pretended to be straight but finally decides to tell his love to his best friend whom he often masturbate together) & Mihashi An (The sequel of the Shintarou & Yoshiki series - Shintarou consults with his father's disciple, Makio about his love for Yoshiki who is so young like his younger brother. Makio taught the sex to Shintarou, then Yoshiki comes to save Shintarou). All the stories are interesting with hard sex scenes but I prefer the stories with adult characters. The writers are: Sadahiro Mika (UGH - American prison story serialization : "Opening/beginning Color pages" - Sword gives up being a guardian of Sen and rapes Sen. Sen becomes more intimate with Norman and a rift between Sword and Sen seems to be hopeless...), Higashizato Kirico (tragic story of two old best friends separated by internal war - secret agency tries to kill a major of army but fails and held as a prisoner. He is raped by a soldier who seems to know him...), Yumemakura Nekomaru (The medical students romance - A medical student has fatal weak point because he is always faint at surgical operation. His professor forgives him instead of coercion of sex with him. He keeps the secret from his best friend but...) , Sakurano Nayuna (The sequel of "the students in art school" series - Genius student can not draw picture by his hand's injury. Then he asks his lover whether he is worthy to be loved or not), Minami Megumi (This is a sequel of the best friends of hostile countries - America and Germany. Two men enters motor-car companies but can not tell their feeling each other. Then hero's brother compels sexual relationship by jealousy...), Matsuura Kei (One day when a student wakes up, he finds himself lying with his senior student together in the bed. He can not remember why and escapes from senior student...). I like "Danger" because there has been a lot of hard sex scenes. But this volume seems to a little lack usual strong/impressive/dramatic angst plots/situations/scenes ("super conflict of the strong emotions" or "extraordinary tragedy of adult gorgeous guys" or "dangerous and hard but unique sex scenes",,etc). Various short stories with angst taste for (perhaps) adult female readers. The writers are: Kasuga Naoka (The trainee of boxing invites his senior & strong but taciturn trainee to his apartment), Nagi Ayumi (The young office worker visits his senior office worker who was dismissed by restructuring of the company's organization), Shiranagi Yurika (The idol star knows his stylist had devoted himself as business and finds another new young candidate for star), Sadahiro Mika (UGH - American prison story serialization), Sakurano Nayuna (art school student asks his classmate why he hides his talent), Suitsu Ayako (The window cleaning man sees the sex of office worker and CEO). all stories are interesting for me because they have very explicit hard sex scenes and they are strong & passionate stories and not students' tame/lovely romances. Sanwa Shuppan is very challenging publisher! In this volume, the complete short stories which are worthy of notice are: Kasuga's body is very muscular and gorgeous, Sakurano's seme is very dark and dangerous, Suitsu's story and sex scene (it's on the gondola for *high building* window cleaning!) are very unique. "Ankoku Jyojyou vol.2" (Issuisha) Mar/2002 8.29 ***
The second volume of the progressive/avant-garde porno anthology magazine of same title. The writers are Hiraku Machida, Jun Hayami, Kanako Meiji, Shindou Maki, Benkyou Tamaoki, Saizou Horihone(=Akiba Oze), Miya Amiya, Hiromasa Fujiki, Henmaru Machino, Akira Yuki, Karei Oujo. In this volume, there are less traditional ordinary porno taste (or all are experimental. ie. too dark or too disastrous or too hilarious or too nonsense or too immoral). I like Meiji's funny story why "Hikikomori guy" (who appears in "Hageshikute Hen vol.4") becomes "Hikikomori" most! His father is very sexy and cute like the father of "Hanazakari no Niwa" series by Kunie Sakai. I really love Meiji's father! And I also like a hilarious comedy about the training of a new worker at the animal costume play bar by Akira Yuki. Her story is very blunt but stylish/fashionable! "Ankoku Jyojyou" (Issuisha) Nov/2001 8.38
The new series of the progressive/avant-garde porno anthology magazine, "Hageshikute hen" issued from Kousai Shobou. Issuisha and Kousai Shobou are same publisher but this publisher issues "books for adult" from Issuisha (So, yaoi books are issued from Kousai Shobou). The writers are Jun Hayami, Izumi Tsukimori, Hiraku Machida, Bokushindou, Kanako Meiji, Karei Oujo, Miya Amiya, Akiba Oze, Henmaru Machino, Alumi Makita, Hiromasa Fujiki. The story of "illegal detention of girl" by Hayami is unique and interesting! It describes well the abnormal feeling of the man who loves girl very much but at same time he has negative dark desire and he wants to keep a girl "absolute inferior" to him. Tsukimori's first sex story between little kids is also interesting and cute! Tsukimori's girl is not an ordinary victim of the man, but a girl who has her intention/desire independently. Machida describes the agony of the man who is born in the family whose men have genetic inheritance that loves little girl. I think Machida wants to insist the preference of human (his personality) is not changeable easily even if it would be very immoral or shameful. Akiba Oze's story is unique (Her stories are always unique...) incest scatology one of the sisters (f/f story). Makita is also unique to express well the complex feeling of pitiful young girl who is loved but refused by his teacher who fears to realize his Lolita-complex preference. In addition to these unique stories, I'm very fond of the black-humor short story of "father and his daughter" at an extreme situation by Bokushindou. Yaoi mangaka can not issue such unique short story like this as commercial manga yet (can issue by only djs). I really want yaoi readers to mature soon in order to accept such black humour stories. The chief-editor's comment of this volume is about the current President of the United States, "Bush". He blames Bush for attacking Afghanistan by the too simple justice which Bush sticks obstinately to. I sometimes think the yaoi or hentai readers/writers are more democratic than heterosexual people in a public position because yaoi/hentai fans really wish the coexistence of the people whose thought and preference are different. "Danger vol.5" (Sanwa Shuppan) Oct/2001 8.4 ***
Very explicit short stories by Kiriko Higashizato, Rie Honjyou, Mika Sadahiro, Nayuna Sakurano, Chika Taniguchi, Ayako Mizuno, Cisco Kataru. I tries to buy this because Sadahiro starts new series of American prison story like TV drama, "OZ" (But she did not watch it actually when she wrote this story. I heard this fact from her directly). A japanese student studying abroad is sent to the prison because he made love with the wife of his professor and killed him by accident. At prison, hopeless japanese man meets very sexy & energetic but dangerous guy...All the characters are very attractive and story is unique (the contrast of mysterious & silent oriental guy vs aggressive & active american guy) and dramatic. The author seems to research the american prisoner's culture very well and can express its atmosphere very naturally. I'm very looking forward to the future stories. And last Kataru's short story between prostitute student and the fisherman of tuna fishing boat is very interesting. The author explains well why so many japanese high school girls become prostitutes now. They have no way to evaluate themselves except the money from their customers. Sanwa Shuppan seems to make the yaoi writers write manga freely as the writers want. So recently Sanwa Shuppan has become the one of my favorite publishers! (by Slash-kun 25/Sep/2001)

"Hageshikute Hen vol.4" (Kousai Shobou) Jul/2001 8.2 ***
The last volume of very avant-garde pornographic anthology series. The writers are Karei Oujo, Hiraku Machida, Jun Hayami, Kanako Meiji, Miya Amiya, Henmaru Machino, Akiba Oze, Risao Endou, Hiromasa Fujiki, Alumi Makita, Bokushindou. The story by "Risao Endou" is a kind of m/m story (but transvestite boy story). I also enjoyed the strange incest story between brother who suffers from "Hikikomori syndrome"(hate contacting with other people and always keep indoors) and his honor-roll student sister by "Kanako Meiji". What a charming brother! The editor says this series will change into different title series, "Ankoku Jyojyou" (Dark lyricism?) as adult porno book from "Issuisha" in this autumn (not fixed). Third volume of very avant-garde pornographic anthology series. The writers are Hiraku Machida, Jun Hayami, Kanako Meiji, Akiba Oze, Karei Oujo, Miya Amiya, Henmaru Machino, Alumi Makita, Akira Yuuki, Bokushindou. Though there are no m/m stories, I could enjoy very weird stories. Especially the story of "Akiba Oze" about parasitology scholar couple is very unique. Many japanese men like women who are not prominent. Perhaps Oze may want a man who can accept his partner's uniqueness. Besides this, I like the strange romance between girl and hermaphrodite students by "Miya Amiya" and funny romance between woman of marriageable age and his boy friend who does not propose marriage to her readily by "Akira Yuuki". The editor of this anthology regrets these series seem to be in the red (don't make money) but I think he should have some talent to find the mangakas who has also talent and I'm very looking forward to encounter them. Second sequel to very avant-garde pornographic anthology. The writers are Benkyou Tamaoki, Kanako Meiji, Hiraku Machida, Miya Amiya, Sindou Boku, Akiba Oze, Henmaru Machino, Jun Hayami, Karei Oujo, Akira Yuuki, Risao Endo. Risao Endo's short story again has m/m factor (Incest tragedy. The hero left his home to escape from his violent drunk father though hero worried about his cute and helpless younger brother very much. Hero encounters the girl who resembles his brother very well but the girl never shows her perineum to hero...) and is really impressive story!! The chief editor said he cried reading this (me too!). Kanako Meiji's is also incest story between daughter and his uncle but his uncle often think heroine to be a boy because he also has same incest experience, being raped by his father. He is going to be mad but heroine becomes to symphathize with such miserable uncle and *rapes like his father*!!! I think many yaoi writers write such story (fatigue fathers are saved by his children) because they feel great sympathy with old guys who lives in traditional society and have heavy obligation to keep their family. Now in Japan old men are the being who are pitied (like movie "American Beauty") by even japanese women who are weak but live freely ! Akiba Oze's story is unique & cute romance between very strong and masculine heroine who uses her anus at sex and a cute and weak guy who loves so much heroine as she is (loves even her secret activity in a rest room). Heroine becomes very honest and relaxes by such tender guys. Oze expresses well modern women's stress by living equally like men. At postscript, the chief editor says he issues this series for "the freedom of expression". He is seriously afraid that pornographic manga would be discouraged because in last November, a bill which controls/restricts pornographic books/manga/video became effective (came into force) in Japan. Very progressive/avant-garde/underground/abnormal pornographic stories by various (young, veteran, male & female mangaka) talented writers (Hiraku Machida, Zero no Mono, Miya Amiya, Benkyou Tamaoki, Sindou Boku, Masaaki, Jun Hayami, Henmaru Machino, Risao Endo, Ningyo Tsukasa, Inaki Matsumoto, Kazu Miki, Shiso Kiken). Mainly for adult men but only one story written by Risao Endou has m/m factor (promiscuous sexual relations among a man and twins - sister & brother). At postscript, the chief editor, Ariyoshi Tada appeals he issues this for "the freedom of expression". He regrets recent manga magazine never issue dangerous & dark & nonsense stories which he (middle age japanese guy) wants to read in Japan because of recent regulation movement for porno manga. He insists "Every expression should harmful for someone", so "Any expression should not be persecuted only because they are harmful for someone". He quotes the comment by very famous female mangaka in Japan. She said "Bad manga will get rid of good manga, so we should not allow/leave such bad porno manga". But Tada says many old popular manga (even "Sazae-san") had been assumed as bad books for adult people long time ago (about 1940's) and he has no interest with previous female mangaka's work, so her manga will be bad for him because it just wastes precious paper resource. The last volume of this series. I already read a few writers but did not read most of them ("Tachibana Takashi", "Hizakura Kurumi", "Matsumoto Inori", "Yokota Kumi", "Tohjoh Rana" "Katsuragi Setsuna", "EMI", "Kotobuki Miina" "Miyata Etsuko" and some interesting articles about yaoi manga/movie by writes). The editor of this series, Yoshiaki Shioyama is a very famous editor of porno manga and found many new talent for this series but his trial was so enthusiastic/minor that both ordinary yaoi fans (Shioyama's magazine is short of "aestheticism") and gay people (too girlish) did not seem to support it. But I could enjoy these BDSM stories with shota taste and Kousai Shobou has produced many new yaoi mangaka of talent after a few years...(by Slash-kun 15/Dec/2001)

The author is same person as "Kougami Eri". This is her first comics. Short stories with very explicit erotic sex scenes. Most characters are lively & cute young boy (students) . Her art is very fashionable, modern and pop. The cover pic is not so cool (IMHO) but inner b/w drawings are very skillful and cool. All her stories are short but enough interesting and good. I think it is because her uke is very energetic like Yusuke of Yu-Yu-Hakusho though he is very small.(by Slash-kun 12/May/2001)

The final volume of the very popular long & erotic fantasy! The story: (Kiri and Tonami finally reach the west end. They meets Mitou who is perfect existence and knows the future of everyone there. Mitou predicts that Kiri will die because of Tonami. Mitou says he has let Kiri keep living in order to bring Tonami to Mitou safely. Mitou thinks every imperfect like Kiri should die and tries to deprive another perfect existence, Tonami from Kiri. But Kiri refuses Mitou's order and declares "I and Tonami will live as we like". Kiri nearly falls into the darkness/black hole of Mitou with Tonami but Kiri and Tonami know there the old history of the human being , the secret of "Castle" - they made Castle to control the earth which had been polluted by them and return the clean earth to next generation - and the secret Kiri & Tonami's relationship - current human is testee of the degree of pollution and Demiuru is new candidate after human and has instinct to absolutely obey the human/owner in order survive until the earth will be cleaned completely. Mitou is the supervisor program for Castle and Demiuru but Tvai is also supervisor of Mitou, then they destroy themselves because human being and Demiuru have made unexpected progress of old generation who believed they can control everything and made Castle, Demiuru, Mitou & Tvai. New generation begins to live by themselves - with no control like Castle - on new earth...). Very impressive & dramatic ending with a lot of hope in the future though this volume does not have explicit sex scenes. Mitou & Tvai explain the mystery/secret/truth about "Castle, Demi and human" of this story for long time, so it may be a little difficult for non-japanese readers to understand. Very hilarious long series about a model and CM producer (Story: A able advertising company businessman, Moriya has sought a CM model of jewelry. He finds ideal one, Itsuki Ouno, a student who has dignity and noble atmosphere which make everyone prostrate themselves before. Moriya devotes himself to Itsuki and becomes a sex slave for Itsuki. Perhaps I think it is because the author uses too usual situations (students, rich family's father, girl friend's jealousy,,etc). I hope the author to challenge more difficult stories at next time! Azumi's characters are very beautiful, so I'm afraid her musicians are too aesthetic. But she has interpreted many characters (musician, managers, producer of record company,,etc) very well and expressed the sensitive hero's mind deeply. And the sex scene is more erotic than I expected (It may be because it was initially issued as djs). Especially I'm deeply moved by the last episode that poor Yoshito gives old watch, a keepsake his grandmother to Yukinori for the celebration of Yukinori's employment!! But the author is really intelligent & well-mature (Author knows various old, classic things & business knowledge and invents very witty name of barons!) and very brave to challenge very controversial & very hard-core BDSM story (The scenes of frantic action of Takashi at his members-only S and M club is really punchy! There is no easy compromise. Takashi's farcical despair which he can realize himself only by *pain* is well written). In her art, there is too much of a gap between "best/meticulous ones" and "plain/usual ones", so the readers often overlook her deep theme or her great talent of art (She draws various unique barons and unique underwear, S & M tools. By the author's postscript, Chitose says her career as djska is very long and she did not understand by herself whether she want to write yaoi or not and she sometimes wrote non-yaoi stories. Ukyou saves Kakeru but is hated by Kakeru because Kakeru has very bad memory with "yakuza" - his father has great debt and got serious hurt and enters the hospital by yakuza and his mother ran away with her lover, yakuza. Then Ukyou disguises himself as ordinary temporary worker and helps Kakeru's shop. One day Kakeru is kidnapped by the enemy yakuza. Ukyou with his fellows storms the head office of the enemy and tries to kill the leader but gives up it by Kakeru's persuasion. Ukyou pays Kakeru's debt and proposes Kakeru but Kakeru can not love the yakuza. Ukyou's father makes Ukyou his successor against Ukyou's intention...). "The stupid situation that yakuza hides true colors & acts like the split personality because he loves boy who hate yakuza" is very interesting and attracts so many readers (so the sequel is now going on)! The character of Ukyou (savage for enemy but very tender for Kakeru) is so attractive & cool!! His fellow, Sasaki is also very likable guy. Especially I'm deeply impressed with the fifth story of ping-pong club because the tall and macho student whose appearance is seme wears the turtle costume and *is taken* by beautiful student who is turtle mania! The scene of turtle student spawns ping-pong balls like egg reminds me of adult male porno manga but it never disgusts me because of the author's pretty art (I think the art or characters' appearance is really important for the female reader's impression/interpretation). The author also says at her postscript she enjoyed writing the fifth story and could write the plot soon without any labor. In this year the author issues so many books, so I think she has remarkably distinguished herself as a popular top-class yaoi mangaka! Besides, the cover pic of this book is really wonderful (The chief editor recommends it and I appreciate her/him very much!). The author has written a lot of funny stories, so such a serious story like this may be challenge for her (But Tachibana is so eccentric/queer that I can not help laughing at him). The hero of this story is Akito, but I love Takamizawa and Tachibana's subordinate & Akito's guardian, Kuroda because they are very gorgeous adult guys. But in a real life, women often hate being monopolized by their boyfriends though the participation with society is a sort of selling their own life. But Asahi begins to overcome various difficulty or problems by his colleagues' warm support...). Yaoi mangaka have adopted various many employees or workplaces of men because yaoi fans are very curious about them. But "station employee" is very rare and new. But many yaoi fans really should want such a station with many handsome young employees!! There is no sex scenes and even no explicit yaoi scenes and the story is trifling but it is very funny like the short comic play by SMAP. The author's personal experience of temporary working at "Shimokitazawa station" when she was a student is very funny (She should really like "the station as workplace"!) and its experience makes this story realistic, therefore hilarious. The author seems to like the technique of "recollection/reminiscence". And this volume is mainly about girlhood of Sophia who is a genius hacker women and the leader of guerrilla group. The author is very unique to have interest in both boys' and girls' problems of puberty and tries to express them. At the end of this volume, hero, Eria's father is talked about. He was researching about his real father for long time and came to know the existence of "Propater" where his father belonged to. He cooperated with Propater for a while but he finally betrayed it. The long flashback story of Kenji. I could enjoy this volume because I love Kenji very much! His brother was a young strong hooligan (partisan) and did not want to make Kenji follow the same fate as his. But Kenji resigned his school because he was weak and was always bullied/raped/threaten by his classmates. As time went on, Kenji becomes lonely & cruel killer who absolutely obeys only his master (his brother or the man who killed his brother)...The author wrote his miserable experience in his school days at his postscript. According to it, the author was bullied by his classmate and wanted to kill him. But he gave up his plan in front of classmate's house because the author heard the argument of the family and knew that his classmate's family was not happy. Even now many private citizen (especially weak girls) at international dispute area are suffered from a lot of land mines, so the author may want to express its terror/fear with the miserable prostitute girl (but she tries to resist her fate and fight with it) of the fictional future world. Reading this manga again, I'm very afraid current unreasonable tendency that such antiwar movements or government criticism are not allowed freely/easily now after WTC terrorism. The author writes quite fiction but I think he tries to write very contradictory status of the current world (ie. The gap between Christian or atheist advanced rich countries and Muslim or other religious poor developing countries,,,etc). In guerrilla group, there is a very mysterious cool japanese guy, Kenji. He works as a perfect killer machine and has very complex feeling against commander Kahn who trained Kenji. This is the shounen/seinen manga serialized on the monthly magazine, "Afternoon" which is known as very excellent & minor SF manga magazine (now in Japan, SF is not so popular compared with "(Heroic) Fantasy"). This is the story of the world after very tremendous terrible epidemic killed many people. The first half story is about the last son and daughter of the human-being at artificial base for experiment and the second half is about Eria, the son of them (Perhaps. The author did not reveal the relationship between two heroes explicitly). When I read this for the first time, I was very surprised at the indirect cause of the collapse of the world (Direct cause is the epidemic). That is the jealousy of the homosexual scientist for his classmate who has been married with a woman and has a son. I wondered japanese male readers could sympathize with such a scientist but I was deeply impressed at the author's trial and at the usage of the music, "People get ready" of "The impressions".(by Slash-kun 27/Oct/2001)

Then Yuusuke orders his grandson to bring evil mirror to Kurama.../ Kurama's magical power is gradually declining. He uses his last power to be young again and becomes a test astronaut of first light speed trip / Kurama goes to america for academic research. After 100 years, Hiei finds Kurama's look-alike in the town. It's android invented by female scholar who loved Kurama at USA university. Hiei and Kurama steal the big diamond.../ The sequel of third story. After 43 years, Kurama's body is going to decay, then Hiei and Kurama go to the research center of female scholar. Kurama recovers but it is another android.../ Kurama is going to get married with his old classmate with whom Kurama met at alumni association after long interval. Kurama tries to remember something desperately but can't for long time. Suddenly he remembers the old but brilliant memory with Hiei). Third story was published as "Hikou Shounenzu" from Oota Shuppan. The author writes various Kurama (Old guys or Android, The guy who is going to get married,,etc) who lost the magical power and feels lonely by the separation with Hiei who lives young for ever with impressive expression. Eternal loneliness somehow suits "infinite/vast universe/space" well, so the author expresses Kurama's loneliness well using SF concept(Rocket, Android,,etc) and a lot of impressive & poetic words (Author adopts very impressively many literatures or poet like Ray Bladbery, Philip K Dick, Akinari Ueda, Susumu Hirasawa,,etc). Kurama's grief is just author's one that she misses her young days (the springtime of life) as well as many readers do. There may be many various sorts of pleasure/impression at the reading of (parody) djs, but I think the most strong impact for many readers is this "nostalgia by impressive memory of passing youth (The readers enjoyed reading original manga very enthusiastically when they were very sensitive)". Therefore I'm more deeply moved by this book with old fleeting/transient characters than the author's current commercial works which express realistic girls nowadays. The author's postscript is also really dramatic. She met "Yuuyuu Hakusho" when she was working as a sales staff of the printing company. She was greatly inspired by this series, then she invented "the ton of stories for many years writing" for only two months though she had written only 8 pages manga ever. It's so miraculous! The encounter with "Yuuyuu Hakusho" made her destiny change completely! The author appreciates Yoshihiro Togashi (The author of "Yuuyuu Hakusho") and apologizes her illegal usage of his characters at same time. But I think Enomoto Nariko never appears if she did not occur illegal usage (writing parody djs). Now many japanese female mangaka have come into being through same process. So I wish very much the right of making parody djs should be established legally soon. In this book, there is definitely something original (the author is too modest to call it "misinterpret" but she could not help find her own truth desperately by writing djs like "eternal dream"). Very thick reissue book of the early djs works (including Evangelion djs - GAINAX officially gave the permission!!) and of her early commercial book (including "Haruo") by the name of "Nobi Nobita". Some are m/f stories like "Sentimento no Kisetsu" and others are m/m stories (The tired office worker has a short dream with a fantastic girl of a butterfly at the end of summer / A girl deserted by her mother acts sexual doll for the old man who gives very beautiful dresses to her / Nameless middle aged writer who keeps refusing the writing Lolicon novels, falls in love with the actress girl of the small theatrical troupe, but the actress is really a boy.../At the summer resort, the boy often visits the girl with mental disorder and make love with her instead of her father.../ SF. A girl prostitute picks up an old-style robot but it becomes her good lover../ Shinji is recovered from the integration with Evangelion but feels the problem by his isolation of his individual. Ayanami tries to compensate it by sex / Shinji lost Ayanami and he accepted Kaoru by the regrets that he wanted to be united with Ayanami but he just hurt her. But Shinji knows the people will be isolated when they grow up / The abstract poetical sketch using Evangelion characters inspired by the movie, "Der Himmel uber Berlin" of 'Wim Wenders'. / Shinji forgets all his NERV's memory during summer vacation but he suddenly remember slightly / "Kaettekita Hitosarai" (Shota story of Kid-napper rocker) / "Haruo" (unique & beautiful fake-family story)). The author keeps writing the stories of "the boys & girls who feels identity-crisis" (the children deserted by their parents) and "the middle-aged men who is looser/weak in society" (the women who is tired of the role as mother" and even now she continues her way. If you like her current work and did not have chance to see her early work, I will recommend this book. You will find the root of current her work. Hiland has issued yaoi novel series (LAQiA, super LAQiA) but in this autumn, it starts comics series, too. This is one of the first trial issues. The long & familiar (or realistic) series of dull couple of long term, 8 years as well as the period of the serialization (1997 - 2001) from the author's debut. The story: (Shunsuke Aoyama, 26 years old and Kazuya Kuzumi, 24 years old are very longtime couple since they were students. Kazuya tells a lie that he should work overtime because he wants to refuse Shunsuke's sexual demand of everyday. Kazuya spends his free time of the evening for weeks but happens to look Shunsuke is talking with the woman delightfully in the town. Kazuya decides to abandon his playing false but Shunsuke finds Kazuya's lie before Kazuya's confession.../ The freshman of Kazuya's company takes a picture of Kazuya's kiss with Shunsuke / Kazuya comes into heat and asks Shunsuke merciless sex desperately / Kazuya realizes his current happiness by the severe memory that he parted with Shunsuke for a while when they were students by small argument / Kazuya and Shunsuke go to skiing. Sunsuke becomes sullen because Kazuya is busy to teach the snow board to the girls. Kazuya tries to comfort Kazuya by sexual service / Shunsuke is recently too busy to enjoy sex with Kazuya. Kazuya thinks he should make effort to be more sexy for Shunsuke but Kazuya suspects Shunsuke may have secret.../ Kazuya's mother send the photo for his marriage meeting. But Shunsuke does not say Kazuya not to try it...). It's very unique and difficult for yaoi mangaka to adopt the daily life (maintenance of love) of ordinary longtime couple because longtime partners often lost innocence & excitement when they met for the first time. But Enomoto is successful in finding subtle joy, gentle consideration & good reconciliation of longtime partners through their daily careless conversation or small quarrel & complaint or unfaithful attitude or fruitless reminisce. Most of yaoi stuff are about unrealistic (too fantastic or too dangerous or too dreamy) but such stuff let the readers escape from severe real life but do not give the readers adequate hints to live their real life happier. And this is not "first love stories". To maintain the love is very difficult issue of our life. I'm so impressed because Enomoto challenges these two subjects, realistic & maintenance. Enomoto's appeal looks her strong antithesis for real life where there is no romance after marriage. Of course her cruel, clever and lustful but very cool seme and silly but cute & honest uke are very attractive!! This book may be the greatest book of hers. Happy encounter of the author with Hiland may produce very good series! I wish Enomoto to remember her early originality, keep challenge like this and avoid ordinary easy commercial stories. Very sincere romance between a timid teacher and a wild student in industrial art high school. The story: (Takeru Igarashi, a student suddenly tells a newly-appointed teacher his feeling, Seiju Asano. Seiju looks very smart & stylish now because of his brother's idea who is worry about very timid Seiju. Seiju was bullied by student when Seiju taught at the girl's high school. Takeru is refused by Seiju but never give up even if Seiju seems to have steady girl friend who always choose very nice clothes and accessories. Seiju gradually feels sorry for Takeru...). I think this uke (Seiju) is very likable/agreeable character because he resists definitely the harassment by his co-worker, Sonoda by the influence of Takeru with straight mind. Takeru (younger seme) is also very nice guy who has steady dream of his future and make effort to realize it and love the Asano's toughness to change. The sequel of the "Main Dish", the stupid couple of very lustful beautiful boy and wild and cool guy with very superior sex technique. The story: (Munehisa Hamada and Souji Tokiwa go to short trip of the tennis club of their college together and they happen to meet very kind couple of medical students, Miyagi and Eiji. Souji is so busy to treat beginner girls of tennis club that Munehisa is offered about threesome sex by medical students. Souji saves Munehisa from them and Munehisa promises never to do same stupid action. But Munehisa is involved in their conspiracy and Souji tries to rape Miyagi in front of Munehisa as the punishment...). The irresponsible bonds between Munehisa and Souji become serious and deeper/tighter by the interference of the other couple. In this volume, uke character, Munehisa shows himself at his best again, radiates/releases too much (excessive) sex appeal and can not control himself and becomes desperate for anyone. I enjoyed seme character, Souji is unexpectedly very lustful/fierce/savage, too.(by Slash-kun 29/Jun/2002)

I think this book may be one of the most splendid works among Enomoto's. The nihilistic but very beautiful health doctor of the school, Himura (also the expert of love) tempts/enchants the handsome & tall & pure young student, Hirose just simply because Hirose is his type. Himura trains Hirose to be his ideal man and enjoys it but when Hirose becomes too enthusiastic for him or school result becomes worse, He tries to avoid Hirose. But he is moved by Hirose's passion or earnest and begins to gain/recover his old purity...It's very unique that elder & mature teacher is taught by younger student and grows. Especially I enjoyed last episode of Hirose's father (Himura feels aroused by Hirose's father because Himura imagines the figure when Hirose will be grown up). Himura is very lustful and Hirose is also very dangerous and adult & sexy (Now Enomoto's uke may be most sexy) !! This book also contains other three short stories (The stylish/chic romance between very handsome translator and famous young movie actor / Dull guy for love who tries to make love with his neighbor of his apartment only because neighbor is very frank and pleasant like dog / The businessman who was jilted by his lover, tries to enjoy one-night stand with his younger colleague but finds he is a real partner) and all are very emotional and dramatic!! He has no memory of last night because he drunks too much. When Souhei escapes from sleeping men and goes to the place of competition of role of new game, he encounters with Shindou and Kenzou again. Shindou aggressively seduces him and he happens to know Shindou and Kenzou are real brothers....I misunderstood this was complex story that Shindou seduces hero because Shindou really loves his brother and tries to intercept Kenzou's love for hero. But it was totally wrong (simple love triangle and brothers both loves hero) though I could really enjoy my mistakes (I may prefer complex story/character too much)..(by Slash-kun 07/Jul/2001)

Shiki becomes lonely / uneasy and begins to doubt Sengoku may make love with a detective, Hasumi who works with Sengoku. Then Shiki will be involved with the case of the swindlers...Story has good theme (Shiki manages to be a good & equal partner of Sengoku) and there are a lot of sexy scenes. The spin-off story from of "Mr. Sheena's the dairy of the spirit", the days at theological school of a Father Nasanieru. Tragedy but tremendous beautiful and dramatic story!! The story:(Johnason Marbery enters the theological school to forget his disgusting obscene days at his hometown. After the death of his respectful father, his mother wished him on his private teacher who taught him pederasty. Johnason enters dormitory of the school and meets a roommate, Nasanieru. He is receiving the training to be exorcist. Many students hate Nasanieru because there is a rumor that Nasanieru's parent was possessed by demon. But Johnason wants to be his friend because of his boldness, his diligence and his solitude. Nasanieru opens his mind to Johnason and tell his childhood - he was an orphan and did not know the love by the family - to Johnason but Johnason can not confess his lewd days honestly. Nasanieru understands Johnason's mind and never force Johnason's confession. But Johnason's happy day was gone. Ed Kilitory who was Johnason's the private teacher comes to theological school as a temporary teacher of philosophy. While Nasanieru goes to far place for exorcism, Ed threatens Johnason to reveal his old unfaithful action to Nasanieru and forces savage sexual relationship. Johnason tries to part with Ed but Ed exposes Johnason's father's secret and furious Johnason kills Ed...). I love so much the stories by the author like "Shishousetsu" series about miserable poor boys fighting their severe destiny and making great effort to find their happiness desperately with sensitive and impressive art. Many readers will definitely wail like me for Johnason's sensitive mind which finds minute hope at very tough & sound Nasanieru's soul and Nasanieru's pathetic lifelong regret not to save Johnason (But IMHO therefore Johnason can become happy at the end...). Fuji quotes Simon's passage from Bible very skillfully! The catechism/dispute between Ed and Nasanieru is also so powerful, exciting and cool(It reminds me of the sharp conversation of "Kotori no Su" by Hagio Moto!). The author likes to personalization and in this comic, she also personalize uke to be cat. All stories are interesting and especially I like second short story, "Ren-ai Fukanzen Shoukougun" best because both of her uke and seme are very passive. Sci-fic romance between the son of very genius genetic engineer and the colleague of the engineer. The story:(Tsutsumu Shisui is brought up by his grandfather, Dr. Yuujirou after his father, Dr. Hiromu died. But now Yuujirou also died with a lot of debt. At Yuujirou's funeral, Tsutsumu's cousin, Sou Takigawa suddenly appears and declares that he wants take Tsutsumu in charge. Tsutsumu should live with Takigawa at his house and meets Kyouichi Fukami, a salesperson of drug company there. Tsutsumu never met Fukami but somehow feels something nostalgic at him. Fukami hides various things from Tsutsumu but Tsutsumu believes Fukami too easily. It hurts Fukami and Fukami realizes he also loves Tsutsumu though Tsutsumu is a replicant of Hiromu who knows his last hour and tried to entrust his memory to his replicant...). When I read this for the first time, I could not understand easily why Tsutsumu loves Fukami so much and the author did not take advantage of enough the whole sci-fic setting. But I could greatly enjoy this after I realized this story was a good parody of "Mirage of Blaze" (even if the author does not intend it - But it is a fact that the author is a very famous Mirage djska...). Fukami(resembles Naoe) loves very emotional & troublesome Tsutsumu (resembles Takaya) who is different from his father, Hiromu (resembles Kagetora) who was expressionless. Takigawa (resembles Chiaki) is their good friend. The author's professional art (Her well hand-writing letters are very funny and stylish! And small comedic scenes are also very smart and have good taste) makes her parody very interesting & authentic! (by Slash-kun 14/Dec/2002)

Her first original comics (The author already issued her books,"BOY X BOY" with another novelist). Long series (The student Take begins to go to the cooking school for his father who lost his wife, but Take has no talent for cooking and he didn't make any progress. Then the teacher of the cooking school, Kurahashi is asked to come to Take's home to cook dinner for his father. But his father was a lover of Kurahashi who disappeared for ten years ago....) and one short shota story of doctors and his child patient. Especially the long story is very interesting with gorgeous and cool characters. If the author is going to add ore dramatic / stronger emotion or angst relationship, her works will be more impressive. I'm very looking forward her future works! (by Slash-kun 06/Oct/2001)

Two fantastic stories of m/m friendship (First story: Very magical strange flower begins to grow at the hero's head. He consults with unfriendly classmate whose brother is mad botanist. The classmate manages to hide the hero's secret but hero knows it was the botanist's conspiracy... ; Second story: The demon apprentice who pretended as the sister's doll suddenly appears in front of the hero and tries to realize the hero's wish but hero has no desire....). Her first comics. Short stories of rock musicians. Her art is very modern (bold line like Kiriko Nananan or Yuuko Ichikyou, etc) and its atmosphere is very cool and silent like Tomo Ootake or Hanako Matsuyama (especially her middle age men are very nice! They all seem to lose the too much passion of youth and afford to encourage sensitive young guys). But her way of reading Kanji characters are a little complex, the stories are very subtle and there are no explicit sex scene or delicious characters, so it may be a little difficult for readers for the first time. I think the author tries to express the attraction of music or the subtlety of the cooperation of musicians on the paper very sincerely avoiding superficial pomp expression. The last spin-off story of hero and his old professor is good and resembles the movie, "Gods and Monsters". (by Slash-kun 28/Aug/2001)

The spin-off series of "Happy Yarou Wedding". The romance of the younger brother of Akira Toudou and his secretary. The story:(Kazuki Toudou, 10 years old, often fired his servants because they only treated him as a successor of CEO of the big company. But only Chiharu Saijyou, 22 years old, did not, so he could keep Kazuki's faithful secretary for 12 years. But recently their relationship goes wrong. Chiharu devotes himself to his work and girl friends and Kazuki plays truant and enjoy dating with girls, then Chiharu rapes Kazuki for punishment. Kazuki often escapes to the house of Akira, his brother until Chiharu comes to take him. Talking with Akira, Kazuki realizes his love for Chiharu and decides to tell it but before it, Chiharu asks to resign Kazuki's servant because Chiharu feels too tired. One day their head of family calls them and declares "a winner of the japanese fencing match after three months" will be his successor. They should lodge together in a same training hall until the day of match. Arashi has believed Tousei had been very weak/timid since they were children even though Tousei is now very great man. But Arashi's friend says Arashi is too childish to realize how great Tousei is now and tells false way of "adult masturbation" to Arashi. Arashi wonders Tousei already experienced sex and suggests Tousei for "adult masturbation - not alone but doing each other". Tousei accepts it and they keep adult masturbation every night. Fortune-teller boy meets very strange customer. They love each over and it trigger the release of some seal of human's reproduction.../ Good lyric story. A boy hires a housekeeper by his parents' legacy. A housekeeper demands "sex without love". But the boy loves him.../ The sequel. A housekeeper sometimes suffers from a nightmare. He goes somewhere to bring an end to his nightmare. But the boy watches housekeeper returns to his ex-lover.../ Hero does not believe his friend's word of love. Then he tries it by telling that he will change the school soon...). The author was originally a shoujo mangaka but an editor of "Image" (Byakuya Shobou) recommended her to challenge the yaoi manga. Thanks! The stories inserted on Image are fantasy. They are very free though they are a little amateurish. The stories on "Hanaoto" are contemporary yaoi and easy to read. Latter is more dramatic and sympathetic but former's aggressiveness (challenge attitude) is also attractive. I am often apt to have too much expectation for the sequel of sensational short story and for this book, you see, I have it and it annoys me a little. In this long sequel, Takino and Fukamachi keep their long-distance romance (Takino get the job at local company and Fukamachi has been to Tokyo to enter the college). Both of them begin to feel uneasy because they have sense of inferiority each other (Takino becomes too mature guy because he works as a japanese businessman and Fukamachi finds many friend in movie club in his college and demonstrates his talent of writing excellent scenario) and it grows more and more without the chance to solve its reason. The author's expression is very excellent (story is very dramatic and especially last bitter/angst sex is very hard and impressive!) everyone can enjoy very much but I fell this sequel is a little "preestablished harmony" story (They can be happy because "after all Fukamachi gives a chance again to Takino who always tries to give up what he really wants" and there is no unexpected happenings). Very interesting / dramatic plot and characters are cute (Kunihiko is cool but cute!). Last short story is also interesting and the sudden dangerous change of seme character is very funny for me. People can not approach and harm Safuran because they fear Kai who was born with silver stone which will bring unhappiness(misfortune). Safuran's sister hates Kai very much and orders him not to approach Safuran. Then Kai suggests Safuran's marriage. Safuran refuses it and tries to find Kai's mother's golden stone in the dangerous wood to make Kai happy. She disappeared there when Kai was born. But Safuran's friend tries to rape him. Kai saves Safuran and Safuran tells Kai his feeling...). Very heartbreaking ending but with sweet atmosphere. But a little too complex/difficult to understand situation/secret of Kai's mother and her lover. So I could not understand the sudden ending of Safuran at once - such vague ending may make the reader think a lot and leaves room for various interpretation - but also leaves frustration by lack of explanation.... Very bitter angst stories (One is long series about the chief of yakuza, japanese mafia and its lawyer, and two short stories about teachers who were once teacher and his student / public detective and his young elite boss from HQ) of middle age men like works of "Youki Fukai". All romances are not easily carried out and uke or seme always hate their opposites and can not realize their right minds until they would reach the extreme situation. So all stories are full of tension and are very dramatic!! The last story is a parody of "Odoru Daisousasen" and the author changes "Muroi" into "short younger uke" and "Aoshima" to be "tall and experienced/veteran & dirty elder seme" (but keeps Muroi as old and lonely elite and Aoshima as very popular for his colleagues and guy who has a strong sense of justice). Her arrangement is really excellent and acceptable! In this book, Fusa challenges to draw middle age characters and I think its trial successes very well. The readers of this djs report their "ideal Oyaji" and one is "Qui-Gon Jinn" of "TPM" (He might contribute the "Oyaji movement" of japanese oyaji fans very much and support them to know the existence of "slash")! I enjoyed Kishida's movie/drama reports (She recommends "Shinsetsu 3 Okuen Jiken" of "Yuuji Oda" and "Tsutomu Yamazaki". It was recommended by Mizuna Kuwabara, too) and Nomoto's popular series of "Nirasawa Buchou"! (I suppose many japanese oyaji fans are fond of this story. How cute Mr. Nirasawa is!!) I didn't know about the video, "Shizukanaru Don" but it is funny but dangerous yakuza story, so it may be interesting (The drama of male group like family is always interesting for me). The second volume of popular oyaji (adult mature guys) djs series (among oyaji fans) edited by Juji Fusa with some djska guests who like oyaji. This contains three short comedy stories by Fusa and some short stories by other guests (Mio Ayukawa, Sadayoshi Ohtomo, Yuri Kanoko, Rumi Kizawa, Atsuko Kishida, Asa Kohzuki, Kyaw Takahashi, Akeru Nomoto, Ryo Misaki, Riki). Most of the stories are comedy, so I could not enjoy so much (because I like the pathos of Oyaji) but Otomo's oyajis who destroy the computer (most oyaji are poor at new facility like personal computer) and Nomoto's oyaji couple (one is very cool executive and another is very dirty & bawdy practical worker - like "Sagara & Dai-san" of "Mezase Hiro!" by Kazuma Kodaka). But a girl student asks Hiiragi to date with her and Noguchi allows it too easily.../ Noguchi and Hiiragi become couple but Hiiragi feels anxiety because too shy Noguchi does not tell his love.../ Angst: Haruki, Ren and Reiji are best friend. But Reiji begins to love Haruki and the balance of them will be going to collapse. One day Ren entraps Haruki into being raped by his customer of the S&M club.../ Sincere drama: The student who is the ace of the tennis club suddenly stopped playing tennis because of injury. He is now working in the cafe. One day very attractive student starts to come the cafe and encourage him to start playing again.../ Comedy: The student is very afraid his timid teacher may be bullied by the students. He tries to protect the teacher very much but knows the true character of the teacher, the chief of Yakuza...). Most stories are interesting & sexy but mild (not so dangerous as usual Kousai Shobou's other books). I'm very moved by very sad love-triangle story (Additional funny 4-Koma manga is also sad for me!!). I really wish the happiness of the hero! The art is very skillful to read easily and the story is very plain to understand but I think the author may really have the talent to write good super-dark-angst story! Alien Tatsumi is so cute that Kusanagi begins to feej jealous of Tatsumi and forces himself to kiss Hayate ....Very dramatic story with good tempo and lovely characters (very charming Tatsumi and cool Kusanagi)! Rich man promises to give fake family to the hero but soon takes a wife and ejects hero from the house...). The story of long series:(Wakamiya becomes a teacher of "Horimoto Gakuen", prestige private school though he did not graduated. Wakamiya is bewildered because there are so many homosexual couples in this school, but the very superior student, Hijiri Sakurai supports Wakamiya to be accustomed to the school & protects Wakamiya. Wakamiya's uncle is a chairman of the board of directors of this school, so nobody can not disobey him. Wakamiya is shocked by the Sakurai's secret - Sakurai becomes an adopted son of his uncle - but wants to protects Sakurai after the rape incident among the students. Wakamiya realizes his love to Sakurai but he is assigned to different public school by Sakurai. Wakamiya has the courage to go to Sakurai's house but Sakurai's uncle shows the video tape of Sakurai's sex with him to Wakamiya...). All stories have unique & hilarious ideas but are very dramatic (very human even heartrending)! Very enthusiastic like new writer (not just funny PWP but sincere & serious comedy and I really feel the author's humanity). Especially I'm moved by the first short story that housekeeper sexaroid will be destroyed. I wonder why such story (destroy of the robot) is so impressive. The author's uke characters are very gallant, resolute and desperate, so her stories are very touching. Her works have something like Tousuisha's virtue. Very unique story of good (something lesbian) friendship between a girl mangaka and her best friend. The story: (Shouko Shima meets again her best cool friend, Akira after they graduated from high school. Shouko was accepted a winner of the manga contest and just begins her mangaka life. She realizes she really loves Akira though Akira is a girl but Akira finds her boy-friend & get pregnant and they separate each other. Akira abandons mangaka life and enters the poor sewing company but finally realizes she can not do nothing but writing manga. On the other hand, a boy, Kenji is teased by his classmates to display masturbation in the classroom and becomes to refuse going to the school. Marie, a worker of the sewing company is fired and is picked up by Kenji in snowy day. Delinquent students ask Kenji to join the rock group and Marie is nearly raped by their leader, but she happens to find her vocation - a worker of sexual business. Kenji becomes her editor and has a dream to make her write his biography in some day). The author's art style is very uninhibited/wild like Cisco Kataru and he genius way of observing/describing the human is so sharp (And Asakura knows old wide variety of unorganized knowledge a lot - Jim Morison and Panta of "Zunou Keisatsu", japanese early rock group showed their masturbation on the stage)! Koudansha is conservative publisher for shoujo manga but for the author Koudansha invites genius free editor, "Eiji Ootsuka" (editor of "Madara series"). Ootsuka makes Asakura write freely (Whole of this is newly written!) and finds Asakura's hidden theme very well!! It's really the genuine editor work. The reissue of same title books issued from Koudansha (1996) and became out of publisher soon, but now the author is now made much of as "genius modern japanese shoujo mangaka"!. The long avant-garde comedy series of perfect student but with fatal tone-deaf and his music teacher (but in fact swindler) and one short surrealistic comedy of the man with Futon and two early short serious love romance and one hilarious comedy of mangaka and his editor. The author's art is very unique and mixture of the primitive art like "Kotobuki Shiriagari" and wild art like "Kazuhiko Shimamoto" or "Saike Hibari" and its stories are so funny comedy like them but sometimes serious romance like "Q-ta Minami". So the author might go out into the world too early. The author is a young women but knows well about old culture and I laugh a lot at quotation of the song, "Kiiroi shirt (Yellow shirt)" which is old but queer comedy love song! What a strange song she knows!!And a subsidiary character of long series is Goe of "Gacha Man" (This is also the queer - I think - hero of very old animation). Goose has so unique preference that she mainly takes up the unique villain characters, "Oberstein, Paul von" (counselor with artificial/glass eye of the empire) and "Truniht, Job" (politician of the allies) though title features "Yang, Wen-Li" but the author entirely teases him! Many djs are comedy parody of original novels but this djs is very serious and dramatic because this aims at exact manga of the djs novel of same title by Mizuna Kuwabara who is the author of Mirage. Kuwabara wrote "Hyouketsu no Yoru" before vol.8 of Mirage series of Cobalt novels from Shuueisha. This djs novel was only 25 pages, but it has explicit sex scenes and then affected many readers and djska very much. Reading this, you may be able to understand the feeling of Naoe who has loved Takaya as his subordinate for four hundreds years and has kept controlling his desire of dominance of his lord...Poor Naoe...Sigh. The dark angst stories (first, second, fifth and sixth one) with explicit hard sex or violent/cruel rape scenes are very exciting and dramatic! Especially I has been very impressed at the dramas which Ren has overcome Hirose's mean temptation owing to the power of Youji's straight strong love (Ren holds sense of superiority to Hirose and rather feels pity for Hirose at the end) and Ren becomes able to keep writing the sequel of the novel, "Yume no Kodomo" with his current name and Youji also resolves his old serious problem with his mother owing to the love by Ren and Youji has been grown up and seems to be dependable for even Ren at the end (Ren is fascinate by adult Youji again! The second story is the small crisis of homosexual old couple(I like this story best because this has unique theme about the difference of male friend and homosexual lover). The third is about students who are seeking "true love". The fourth is the unique friendship between man who loves a widowed mother and his friend who loves hero. The last story is not yaoi but have feeling/atmosphere like male friendship. Being grown up, Ryuunosuke takes thoughtlessly Ugajin who resembles Hiro.../ A genius boy suddenly comes to heroes house and stays for a while. He is a grandson of hero's grandfather's benefactor. Hero takes care of the boy who lacks of living ability but the boy wants sexual companion next.../ Transfer student from Kansai - western area of Japan is so blunt that he does not have friends but hero. Hero is very proud of it but he happens to know the transfer student is talking with his friend of Kansai very pleasantly by cellular phone...). Looks so wild, cool and sexy when Ryuunosuke becomes grown up by the medicine!! The author thinks of this idea by "Meitantei Konan" who is very clever though his appearance is child. She wants to write the guy who is silly but his appearance is grown-up. The genius student is also very attractive because he is genius but has childish personality. But I love the last sensitive & emotional ordinary love romance though it was the author's early work. The sequel of "Shounen Shoufu". I'm SO surprised at this volume because I was very impressed this volume though first volume was a typical "idol/popular star story". In this volume, the Cinderella a little timid uke boy, a young new talent, Kyo Ayukawa (AYU) who is loved by very popular aggressive star, Kouji Mizuhara, carries very brave but sad determination. In order to protect Mizuhara, Ayu sacrifices himself and resigns his agency and disappears from Mizuhara. Ayu keeps lying to (hiding his secret from) Mizuhara tenderly and it makes me cry my heart out(T_T)! After years Ayu starts his new life but then he finds he might part with Mizuhara because he wanted to become the equal partner of Mizuhara (or match Mizuhara as a star/entertainer). This theme is same as "GOING TO HELL" by Shun Tsuzuki or "Umaimon Kuwasero!" by Youka Nitta and I love such theme!! I'm very looking forward to this sequel now!!! One long series about young idol talents (actors) and short various stories of students (classmates, shota,,etc). Her heroes are sometimes uke and sometimes seme. Especially I like her unique & sensitive stories, 'Bokutachi no Shiranai Basho de' & 'Yasashikute Itoshii' because 'innocent & pure seme loves his lover, uke sincerely'. "Koukenryoku Ouryou Sousakan Nakabou Rintarou vol.2" (Shuueisha) Apr/2000 8.3 *
From beginning to end, all the settlement depends on USA. Touzai Bank, the source of the money for the dishonest politicians, does not fall and is not nationalized on the contrary of their expectation by Nakabou's conspiracy. Touzai Bank disclose the name of politicians (A word, "Disclosure" comes from US and japanese media often likes to use this word...) and is saved by the merger with American! big bank. When this volume is written, American economy was still booming by high-tech industry and we thought only japan was under depression because clearing of the bad debt/credit was delayed. But america also suffers from recession by IT "bubble" economy burst and dared to attack Afghanistan after the terrorism to WTC building. So we can not feel optimistic excitement of victory by US easily as when this is serialized. And I feel sorry the author could not describe why Nakabou's father was assassinate in front of Nakabou when Nakabou was a boy because the serialized magazine suspended its publication...I hope the author starts it on the magazine, "Comic BUNCH". "Koukenryoku Ouryou Sousakan Nakabou Rintarou vol.1" (Shuueisha) Sep/99 8.45 *
Very funny journalistic manga for men (Shinen manga) serialized on the magazine, "BART" which is journalistic entertainment monthly magazine for me (But now it discontinue its publication. Now in Japan, magazines for men don't generally sell well). The author is a very famous mangaka who wrote "Hokuto no Ken", very representative "violent manga of fighters for men" ("Gekiga") . I was afraid Hara could describe journalistic stories for adult men. But Hara has resolved this task very tactfully with his unique exaggerated expression though the story is easy and not so unique. I laughed a lot reading this because I found the very cynical rule/law of Japan. The japanese people always use *foreign pressure* to change their social structure dynamically since "Black ship of Perry"; They can not change themselves by themselves and in this story, hero is hired by the american president, Clinton and hero is allowed to use american practical methods like "Bargain justice (plead?)" or "Witness protecting program" - which are not still allowed in Japan now. But therefore, the hero looks to be uke though he is very strong and muscular macho guy and I am very deeply impressed by the hero who does not kill bad fellows but saves and wins them to his side. Hero often uses clich'e(usual phrase/conventional expression), "Parents have no relation". Then I am suspecting hero may have some trauma when he was child but the reason is not revealed yet in this volume. I'm very eager to know!! (by Slash-kun 01/Dec/2001)

Hara Tetsuo / Ryuu Keiichirou / Asou Mio
"Hana no Keiji vol.1" (Shuueisha) Mar/99 8.4 *
The tale heroic exploits of Keiji Maeda, who is an adopted son of the elder brother of "Toshiie Maeda" who is a real famous historical person, "Daimyou" (feudal lord in the Age of Provincial Wars). The story in this volume was serialized in the boy's magazine, "Weekly Shounen JUMP" during 1989 - 1990 (This is a reissue, bunko version). Comparing previous very popular heroic adventure fighting-action story, "Hokuto no Ken", this story may be a little simple/tame story because this was partly adapted from real japanese historical episodes. But the other way around, it becomes interesting/realistic for adult readers. As same as the Renaissance Era in europe, in the the Age of Provincial Wars in Japan, so many revolutionaries and new philosophers have appeared. The author seems to make Keiji act as "Kabuki-mono" (the rebel-rousers who deny the old thought or tradition and tries to live freely with very unique/strange clothes) in this turning point of all value (exceptional period in conservative country like Japan). But a little negative way of Keiji's life reminds me of the one of "Yang, Wen-Li" in "Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu" (The Legend of the Galactic Heroes) who never has ambition. Keiji is very unlucky hero because he can not use his ability to the full in order to conquer the whole country like "Alexander the Great" or "Chingis Khan" (Keiji could not succeed as the head of the Maeda family. Toshiie asked Nobunaga Oda to succeed it using mean trick. In Japan, it's very humiliating for man to give up the succession of his family and be satisfied with the supporting role of the head of his family). So Keiji is not macho hero (on the contrary of his appearance) but resourceful general and peacemaker (may be hermit, too) using clever trick or wit. From 1990's, heroes of boy's manga seems to lose old typical ambitions as the economic growth of Japan falls off (For example, "Shinji" in Evangellion). So the author may unconsciously create such tragic hero...BTW in this volume, there is no beautiful/sexy girls of teen-ager (only too erotic adult women or too young little child). Now it is very unlike as boy's manga! The author (especially Hara) may hate girls of such age....(by Slash-kun 22/Dec/2001)

One a little long story of students (very beautiful but terrible student loves a very innocent younger student with full of pep) and short stories (the romance of brothers who turn out to be *no-real* bros / The romance between a student who pretends as good student with good conduct and the chairman student who tries to reveal it / Two businessmen who have been parted since their graduation and first making love). When I read the first long story, I was not so impressed but next new three stories are a little more interesting and dramatic (they have deeper theme or more unique situation) for me. "Kaze ni Natte Uta ni Natte" (Tousuisha) May/2001 8.4 *
One long story with shota? taste and one short old story (written in 1988) of strong m/m friendship from their childhood. Both are american stories like her most famous and representative work, "Choukyori Ren-ai no Kodoku" and very dramatic but I prefer old short "not-happy-end" story (reminds me of early work by Akimi Yoshida, "California Monogatari) to new long "happy end" story though many japanese Hashiba fans admire it very highly because new story is too skillful/tactful and perfect. Slapstick about "kidnapper whose days are numbered" and "the very beautiful but homosexual son of influential Senator". The story:(Sei kidnaps Yuushi Mikaidou and demands a lot of ransom money. Sei goes to the place of transfer but Yuushi finds his SP is waiting and saves Sei by telling it. Sei tells the reason of his kidnapping - His father, a doctor notifies that Sei will die soon by his head's cancer. Sei keeps protest against father and wants to do final trouble for his father. Then Yuushi also confesses his secret - He is gay. Yuushi juggles Sei's innocence and hires Sei as his bodyguard. Karina Kurusu, a mother of Yuushi suddenly appears when Yuushi's father collapses. Yuushi is defiant for his loose and wanton mother but Sei chides Yuushi. After a few years, very ambitious economist, Eichi Hirokawa kidnaps Sei in order to get campaign chest from Yuushi's father. Eichi was a private tutor of Yuushi and was a first man of Yuushi...). I'm surprised that this author writes such hilarious comedy, too! The art at comedy scenes is very sharp, dangerous, exaggerated and surrealistic like "Modoru Motoni" (Especially, a doctor, Sei's diabolic father is very funny! Her lettering like "using writing brush" is also very unique). The author invents very intellectual & witty jokes (I laugh a lot about "Ooizumi Junichirou" - a parody of "Koizumi Junichirou" who is the japanese prime minister). Very ambitious new trial! "Kimi no Koe ga Kikitai" (Outou Shobou) Dec/2001 8.45 ***
One long (Very popular rock singer whose is losing his voice by illness and the beautiful younger brother of his doctor who has incest relationship with his brother) and two short stories (The young opera star who damaged his masculine/reproductive when he was a boy, meets with his old friend who is engaged with rich girl / Very selfish beautiful prince finds a poor orphan who resembles him very much and also finds his ugly soul/mind). All are very serious and a little tragic, but very interesting for me! The author recently has written only comedy but I think she should write serious stories (and with much hard sex scenes) more because her art is very delicate and beautiful (This book's cover pic is really wonderful!) and matches well serious/pathetic/painful stories!
